All of us have seen the headlines about companies that have been sued for wage and hour violations.  It seems as though a high number of the suits are caused by the following reaasons:

  • 1.  A failure to keep accurate records of non-exempt work hours.  The employees claim that they are forced to work overtime and then not get paid their premium rate (sometimes not get paid at all).

2.  Modification of time cards by supervisors to ensure their department stays within their labor budget.
